Song: "Back To You"

This is my rock tune of the album! Followed closely by Perfect Time:) Co-written with the extraordinary, Tim Pike, it was a blast to sing. I really wanted to have a few songs on the album that were happy sunny songs and I am thrilled it turned out the way it did. When Tim and I came to Christopher with the song, it was exciting to see Christopher light up as well. We then decided that it HAD to be the track #1 on the CD. So far, I have seen my nieces and nephews, mom, brother, and sister-in-law, all boogie to it. Good times:)

Song: "Wait For You"

I wrote this song when I was living in LA. I went to a movie with my friend Jen on the 3rd Street Promenade and we came out of the theatre only to hear a man with a megaphone shouting "Jesus Saves." It was a Friday night and the promenade was bustling with people...It was crazy to hear him shouting and it affecting me profoundly. The whole experience made me think of being alone, of religion, of the excess in our society...all of these ideas came together in this song. It's one of my favorites.

Song: "Watch Your Step"

This is one of my favorite songs on the album. I actually wrote this song a couple of years before embarking on the new album. I wrote it when I was about to move out to LA. It started off as a song written about someone who I felt had an ego that wouldn't quit, someone who wouldn't listen to other ideas, and ultimately couldn't let his guard down. It was a tough time when I wrote this but as they say, these are when the best songs come out! He's come a long way and so have I. I recently got a review where they said that if Tom Petty and Sarah McLachlan wrote a tune together that it would sound something like this. That was so cool to read:)

Song: "Look Ahead"

This song is one of the sweetest on the album I think. I co-wrote it with my producer, Christopher O'Donnell in the awesome studio of his snuggled in the woods of New Hampshire. We basically set out one day to write a song. It was so much fun seeing our ideas mesh until we came up with what, at the end of the day was the makings of our song. The songwriting process typically takes me some time so this day was particularly cool. I had so much imagery in my head while Christopher was coming up with these amazing chords. It was collaboration at its best and it earned the title spot on the album!!
